PHP in the Community

2024 Scholarship Winners Announced

For more than 30 years, PHP has awarded academic scholarships to high school seniors pursuing careers in health-related fields. These scholarships, totaling more than $180,000, have positively impacted the lives of nearly a hundred students entering colleges, universities, and technical schools.

PHP’s mission includes improving the communities we serve through health education and resources. For more than 30 years, PHP has awarded academic scholarships to high school seniors pursuing careers in health-related fields. These scholarships, totaling more than $180,000, have positively impacted the lives of nearly a hundred students entering colleges, universities, and technical schools.

 

Application Requirements

The selected winners have achieved a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) or higher, are PHP members or have attended high school in the PHP service area, and have been accepted to an post-secondary college, university, or technical school. These winners completed a scholarship application along with an essay to be considered for this award.

Scoring was based on the quality of the application and essay, including, but not limited to: content, grammar, punctuation, spelling, research documentation, and creativity. Also considered was community service including the length of commitment, quality of teamwork, and leadership responsibilities in the community, as well as academic studies, activities, awards, and honors.

Scholarship Recipients

PHP has concluded its 2023-2024 scholarship contest. The following students have been awarded scholarship monies.

1st Place | Rachel Li

Rachel Li is graduating from Canterbury School and plans to attend Indiana University - Indianapolis, where she will pursue Biology.  She is the first place winner and receives a one-time scholarship of $3,000.

2nd Place | Emma Young

Emma Young is graduating from Wawasee High School and plans to attend Florida Gulf Coast University, where she will pursue Nursing. She is the second place winner and receives a one-time scholarship of $2,000.

3rd Place | Marina Rautenkranz

Marina Rautenkranz is graduating from Martinsville High School and plans to attend Indiana University -  Bloomington, where she will pursue Psychology. She is the third place winner and receives a one-time scholarship of $1,000.
