PHP’s mission includes improving the communities we serve through health education and resources. For more than 30 years, PHP has awarded academic scholarships to high school seniors pursuing careers in health-related fields. These scholarships, totaling more than $180,000, have positively impacted the lives of nearly a hundred students entering colleges, universities, and technical schools.
Application Requirements
The selected winners have achieved a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale) or higher, are PHP members or have attended high school in the PHP service area, and have been accepted to an post-secondary college, university, or technical school. These winners completed a scholarship application along with an essay to be considered for this award.
Scoring was based on the quality of the application and essay, including, but not limited to: content, grammar, punctuation, spelling, research documentation, and creativity. Also considered was community service including the length of commitment, quality of teamwork, and leadership responsibilities in the community, as well as academic studies, activities, awards, and honors.
